Yes, they're extremely comfortable and the suspensions are floaty and soft like cotton candy. But getting 180 horsepower out of a 7.0L engine is absolutely unacceptable for any era.

Yeah, but 320 ft/lbs! That's what matters in a land yacht. Apparently they are still effortless to drive, so no real problems in the power dept.

As I said earlier . Yea, the numbers are kinda sad, but they're sill cool in their own way.

Very true, but just seeing 180 (possibly less on a dyno) horsepower listed on a spec sheet is hard to ignore. Especially when a Chevy 265 puts out more power... which was made in 1956...

It would be really easy to bring up a 425's power output. These malaise-era engines were seriously watered down, and a bit of tweaking and coke injection would fix any power deficiencies in a jiff.

Unless I'm mistaken, the problem was with the emissions laws, which restricted the pollution in the emissions based on engine displacement, so while it was technically possible to get that same power out of a smaller engine with the same emissions, it wouldn't have been legal.

These could have easily made 400hp. It is actually quite impressive on an engineering standpoint that they managed so few horsepower out of an otherwise capable engine.
